David Dance, M.D. is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and finished his ophthalmology residency at Oregon Health and Science University in 2009. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Upon finishing his training, Dr. Dance worked at Kaiser Permanente Northwest for four years as a general ophthalmologist. He then moved to North Idaho in 2013 to join the North Idaho Eye Institute where he has established a busy practice. Dr. Dance is an experienced surgeon and clinician. He treats cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, neuro-ophthalmology, pterygium and disorders of the eyelid. He loves his work and the greater Coeur d’Alene community.
Dr. Dance and his wife Channing have seven children. They enjoy backpacking, skiing and playing at the lake as a family. Dr. Dance also enjoys biking and running.
Dr. Dance travels to Guatemala annually to perform sight restoring surgery to underserved blind and visually impaired patients in need. Whether at home or abroad, he finds joy and satisfaction in his work to help other’s keep, maintain, or restore their vision.
