+ Kootenai Health Van

Available Mon-Fri for the greater CDA area and Tue. & Thur. for Rathdrum area. To schedule a ride, you must call 208-625-5030
with a 24-hr advanced notice since transportation spaces are limited. Free to patients who have an appt. with a Kootenai Health facility. Rides are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

Provides curb to curb (door to door for people who require guidance) transportation service to qualified individuals within a quarter of a mile around the bus routes in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Hayden. Potential clients can call 208-446-1616 to get an application to
begin the assessment process. Currently this is free but is expecting to institute a fare.

Senior program (65+) provides curb to curb (or door to door for people who require guidance) rides. 8 roundtrips per month to seniors with mobility challenges within designated areas in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Hayden. Potential clients can call 208-446-1616 to get an application. Currently this is free but is expecting to institute a fare

Low Vision Support Group

Area on Aging

Area on Aging offers a range of support services. These include homemaker services, Meals on Wheels, assistance with referrals and information, adult protection, long-term care ombudsman services, and family care respite. Panhandle Senior Companion

This program is for homebound seniors and adults. It offers support across the five northern counties, providing weekly companionship visits and transportation to appointments and outings at no cost to clients. To check eligibility and enroll, contact Daniel Perry at 208-475-5177. Volunteers assist with transportation and socialization.

Idaho Care Line

Dial 211, 800-926-2588, or text 989211 to access the Idaho Care Line. This is a free statewide community information and referral service program. This program is managed by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) and assists in connecting individuals with resources and assistance across Idaho.

Idaho Commission for the Blind & Visually Impaired

ICBVI is a state agency which has been serving Idahoans since 1967. The agency assists blind and visually impaired persons to achieve independence by providing education, developing work skills, increasing self-confidence and helping them remain employed or prepare for employment.
